Dungeon Wilds Guidebook
A limited edition 18 page zine and guidebook for the cooperative card game Dungeon Wilds. (Dice and cards not included!)
These are handmade and they kind of take forever to make so I’m only doing 69 of them (nice). They are printed on nice heavy paper from a local paper making company called French Paper. Hand printed, folded, and stitched together by yours truly!
The PDF can be downloaded here. You can download it for free if you want (especially if you’ve already bought the physical copy) but if you’ve got the funds we would appreciate it. Also, please be sure to leave a comment there so others can hear what you have to say about the game!
But what is Dungeon Wilds? It’s a card game that I made up with my two best friends. It uses a standard 52-card deck and 6-sided dice and the rules are loosely based off of the classic playing card game Rummy.
The primary difference being that Dungeon Wilds is a cooperative game. It’s meant to be played slowly in small sessions or over long periods of times. It can be harrowing at times but is relaxing for the most part. Additionally, it features elements of classic rogue-lite games like dungeon exploration and story-telling through death and repeated play-throughs.
The core of the game is a simple trick-taking mechanic that has you scoring points in order to reveal cards hidden in the Dungeon. Once those cards are revealed you’ll be looking for opportunities to play those cards so that you may clear the floor and move onto more deadly parts of the dungeon.
Throughout all of this you’ll have opportunities to purchase items from a terrifying shop keeper in hopes that you may continue to survive the Dungeon Wilds.
Thanks for your support! As the Dungeon Wilds continue to grow this page will serve as a central hub for all updates.
